The 25th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE) was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from October 31 to November 2, 2024. During the conference, 15 vocational institutions were awarded the Certificate of Quality Accreditation for International Student Education in China. Ms. YUAN Qian, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division, accepted the certificate on behalf of Nanjing Vocational Institute of Transport Technology (NJITT).
At the conference, Ms. SHI Yunyu, Director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, delivered a keynote report highlighting Jiangsu Province’s initiatives and achievements in improving the quality, expanding the scale, and enhancing the attractiveness of international student education in China.
In her report, Director Shi introduced NJITT’s efforts in serving international industrial capacity cooperation and supporting Chinese enterprises in their global expansion. In collaboration with leading enterprises such as Jiangsu Communications Engineering Group and JSTI Group, the Institute has established specialized programs including the “International Road and Bridge Engineer Class” and the “Port and Waterway Construction Engineer Class.” Through close cooperation between the Institute and enterprises, talent cultivation schemes have been jointly developed, specialized courses designed, and practical training organized. This innovative model achieves the integration of enrollment, employment, and career development, enabling students to be recruited by enterprises upon admission and directly employed after graduation. Graduates from these customized programs are assigned to overseas construction projects, providing strong human resource support for enterprises operating abroad and earning high recognition from industry partners.
In recent years, NJITT has actively supported Chinese enterprises in their global development by partnering with them to establish overseas educational initiatives. The Institute has established the Jingshi Academy in Lanna, Thailand, the Zheng He · Treasure-Ship Workshop in Brunei, and jointly founded the Zheng He College with Nanjing Institute of Technology and other partners. These initiatives explore innovative models for international student cultivation and continuously improve educational quality. NJITT has also launched International Engineer Classes, organized overseas teaching activities, and conducted a series of “Chinese Language + Vocational Skills” training programs to cultivate local technical and skilled talents for Chinese enterprises operating overseas.
The four-day conference was themed “Education: For Everyone, For the Unknown, For the Future.” It featured six major components, including the plenary session, CACIE Night, parallel forums, and partnership meetings. More than 5,000 participants from over 60 countries and regions attended the event, including education professionals, diplomatic representatives in China, and business leaders from around the world.
