To support the cultivation of international transportation talents for countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, the college, in collaboration with the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO VOCTECH), the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), and Laksamana College of Business (LCB), is training cold chain logistics technical and vocational talents for Southeast Asian and Central Asian countries, as well as cultivating local overseas employees for Chinese “going global” enterprises in Brunei.
In April, the college held the “Chinese + Cold Chain Logistics” vocational skills training, which covered several thematic topics including “Logistics Technology Applications for ‘Belt and Road’ Overseas Enterprises in the Context of Supply Chain Integration” and “Applications of Cold Chain Logistics Technology in China’s ‘Belt and Road’ Overseas Logistics Enterprises.” More than 300 corporate employees, university faculty, and students from Brunei, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan participated in this training series.
Mr. MA Yaowen, a lecturer from the School of Transportation Management, systematically introduced supply chain integration and innovation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the application of cold chain logistics technology in Chinese overseas enterprises, and the role of industry-education integration in promoting logistics technology applications in Chinese companies. The training also included targeted online skills exercises and interactive sessions. The content was highly professional and practical, receiving an enthusiastic response from the students. During the interactive Q&A session, Mr. Ma engaged in in-depth discussions with students on topics such as “promoting the development of new quality productive forces and jointly innovating with manufacturing enterprises in Belt and Road countries to build an integrated supply chain.” Students asked questions eagerly, creating a lively atmosphere.
This “Chinese + Cold Chain Logistics” themed training represents a beneficial exploration and practice aligned with local logistics industry talent development and enterprise needs in Brunei. It is also an important initiative by the college to deepen “Chinese + Skills” training and export high-quality vocational education resources.
